Mauch, Jessie Mae (Bromley) (12 JUN 1910 - 28 MAY 1998)

Jessie Mae Mauch, age 87, of Sauk City, died on Thursday, May 28, 1998 at Maplewood of Sauk Prairie.

She was born in Jump River, Wisconsin on June 12, 1910, the daughter of the late John and Mary A. (Kingsley) Bromley. She was a graduate of Stanley High School, Eau Claire Normal School and UW Eau Claire. She was united in marriage to George T. Mauch on May 13, 1933. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1991.

Jessie was a pioneer in the speech therapy program in the Taylor County School System and always maintained an interest in education. During her career she taught school in Jump River, Arnold, Donald, and Sheldon, Wisconsin, retiring as a speech therapist from Gilman Schools in 1975, at which time she moved from Sheldon to the Sauk Prairie area. She was a member of Jump River Presbyterian Church since 1931, State of Wisconsin Retired Teachers Association, Sauk County Retired Teachers Association, Sauk Prairie American Legion Auxiliary, World War I Veterans Auxiliary, and A.A.R.P.

She is survived by three sons, Rodney Mauch of Milwaukee, Bart (Margaret) Mauch of Prairie du Sac, and Bruce (Gail) Mauch of Chelsea, Massachusetts; a daughter, Myrna Mauch of Holmen; a sister-in-law, Eva Bromley of Jump River; a special friend, Antoinette Roth of Sauk City; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Allaback and Effie Nelson; and two brothers, John and Jim Bromley.

Funeral services will be held at the Jump River Community Center, Jump River, Wisconsin, at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 1998. Burial will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, 1998 at Gnewikow-Hooverson Funeral Home, Sauk City and also after 11:30 a.m. on Monday at the Jump River Community Center.

Memorials may be given to Jump River Ladies Aid.
