Colby High School’s class of 1967 held its 50th reunion on Saturday, September 30, at the Elk’s Lodge in Marshfield. Seventy-three people attended, including 44 classmates, 6 teachers and 23 guests.

A moment of silence was held for the 17 classmates who have passed away: Cheryl Baehler, Galen Beisner, Ron Cook, Clyde Dallman, Ron Fischer, Judy (Hoffman) Voight, Floyd Juedes, Darrel Krebsbach, Leslie Miller, Steve Miller, Bonita (Ploeckelman) Irvin, Gerald Sterzinger, Bard (Stoiber) Racine, Donald Theilig, Lyle Underwood, Tom Weis, and Nancy Willner.

Classmates, and others attending that were in the military, were acknowledged with gratitude of their service and a round of applause.

A donation of $200 was given to the Capitol Campaign Building fund for the new Colby Community Library. The CHS Class of 1967 will be remembered with a bronze leaf on the Library Giving Tree.

The reunion committee was recognized and thanked for their hard work in planning the reunion. Committee members were Ruth Blume, Alice Sturzl, Susie and Terry Schilling, Gail Reineking, John and Sue Becker, Dean Podevels and Galen Fitzel.

The class is looking at celebrating its 70th birthdays as a group in two years. New reunion committee will be Jim Mantor and Aaron Staab.

After the meeting, the gathering was entertained by Lee Hart, (aka Lee Waldhart) classmate, professional comedian, actor and magician.
