Micke, Olive E. (12 SEP 1912 – 12 APR 1969)

Funeral services were held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, April 16, 1969 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen for Mrs. Joseph (Olive) Micke, 56, who passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on April 12, 1969. She was seriously injured in an automobile accident on the 7th of April in the Town of Longwood.

Father H.L. Crubel conducted the service, and was assisted by Father Donald Wilgers and Father Francis Brockman of Thorp. Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Zawadski, John Bonczyk, John Greschner Sr., Stanley Greschner, Glen Johnson and Edward Gosse.

Mr. Micke, who suffered severe scalp lacerations and leg injuries was dismissed from the hospital Monday, while his 19 year old daughter, Kristine, is still confined at the hospital in critical condition.

The former Olive Elizabeth Gindt was born September 12, 1912 in the Town of Edson, Chippewa Co., Wisconsin, and married Joseph Micke on June 14, 1937 in Edson. The couple came to the Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) area in 1944 and settled in the Town of Longwood, where they operated a farm. Prior to her marriage she worked in Stevens Point and Chicago.

She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and of the Christian Mothers Altar Society.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Clayton, route 1, Owen; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Karen) Board, Iowa City, Iowa; and Kristine, route 1, Owen; three sisters, Mrs. Earl (Eleanor) Johanson, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Frank (Julia) Kenlin, New Orleans, La., and Mrs. Floyd (Marie) Esslinger, Boyd; three brothers, Herman Gindt and Walter Gindt, Boyd, and Lawrence Gindt, Stanley.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Victor.
