Andersen, Geraldine Delores (Krueger) (10 JUL 1925 – 23 JUN 2017)

Geraldine Delores Krueger Andersen was approaching her 92nd birthday on July 10, always a happy day for family and friends. Geraldine was surrounded by family as she was born into eternal life with Jesus Christ on June 23, 2017, at Milan Estates in Saukville. Geraldine was a supportive daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend and community member for her entire life.

She was born in Athens into a family of nine brothers and sisters who truly loved God and each other. They went to church every Sunday, all nine in a row next to her beloved mother and father, followed by dinner and a great baseball game.

Her life took her to Wausau to work for the phone company, and to Milwaukee to live and work and meet her great love, Robert Clarence Andersen. She and Robert owned and ran Crestwood Shopping Center in Glendale. Geraldine was a prolific reader and writer of letters and cards going to family and friends. Throughout her life she loved and cared for the birds who came to eat at her bird feeders, and all the animals who crossed her path.

Geraldine is survived by her children, Susan (Gary) Haydock, Scott (Paula) and Kathy Zimm; grandchildren, Peter (beloved friend Isabel), Jennifer, Brian, Elizabeth, Courtney, RC, Mike (Cheryl) and Tim (Mandy); great-grandchildren, August, Elian, Caitlin, Zoe, Emma, Rory and Lila; brother, Erlyn (Lesley) Krueger; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Krueger. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Josephine (Dettinger); the family all mourned the death of Paula’s daughter, Alethea in 2010; sisters, Lucille (Donald) Aderhold, Irene (Ed) Habeck, Doris (Alfred) Habeck, Ester (Lester) Nehrbass and Elvira (Leonard) Jantsch; and two brothers, Orville (Marguerite) Krueger and Donn Krueger.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1332 Arrowhead Rd., Grafton. Interment will be at Hingham Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 9-9:45 a.m. Memorials of your choice are appreciated.
