Bentzler, Mr./Mrs. George (Gold – 19 APR 1972)

Mr. and Mrs. George Bentzler Sr. celebrated their golden wedding anniversary ons atu
, June 24, 1972.

They were married April 19, 1922 at Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) by Father Sterez.

The golden celebration began with Mass at 10 a.m. by Rev. Norbert King. The adult choir sang and servers were Donald and Joseph Aumann, grandsons of the honored couple. Lecturers were Donald Aumann and Sister M. Rose Carmel, Green Bay.

Following the Mass, a dinner for the immediate family was served at Star Lodge Motel, and open house was held at the farm home from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Mr. Bentzler is a member of the American Legion, Loyal, having served in the 32nd Division, 127th Infantry during World War I for 21 months. Mrs. Bentzler is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and St. Anthony's Altar Society.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Bentzler enjoy gardening and crafts.

They are the parents of the following 14 children, who were all present: Mrs. John (Virginia) Grutzik, City Point, Wisconsin; La Verne (Bud) , Milwaukee; Garland, Loyal; Jerome, Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; Donald, Marshfield; Mrs. Myron Burkhardt, Fillmore, California; George Jr., Milwaukee; Mrs. Irban (Leona) Auman, Loyal; Mrs. Richard Laasch, South Bend, Indiana, Edward and Milton, New Hampshire; Raymond, Hartford, Wisconsin; Mrs. Ronald (Kathleen) Froebe, Loyal; Mrs. Ronald (Janet) Freubrodt, Marshfield, and Kenneth, Tigerton, Wisconsin..

One daughter, Lorraine, twin of Leona, died in infancy in 1934.

They also have 47 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Other out of town guests that attended were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bentzler, South Bend, Indiana; Ssiter M. Rose Carmel, Green Bay; Mrs. Pauline Wenzel, Hartford, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Rose Loos, Green Bay.
