Scherer, Susan Beth (10 JUN 1972)

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood, was the setting for a wedding Saturday, June 10, 1972, at 2:00 pm., when Miss Susan Beth Scherer, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her father to Chester Carl Turnquist, R.R. 1, Greenwood. Susan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Scherer, Greenwood, and Chester is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Turnquist, Greenwood.

The Rev. L.A. Koopman performed the ceremony, for which the Leonard Denk family of Loyal played and sang.

A floor length A-line bridal gown of sheer nylon organza was worn by the bride and was styled with Chantilly lace, high neckline, long, full sleeves, and detachable Watteau train. Her bouffant veil fell from a lace Camelot. Her bouquet contained miniature white orchids, white stephanotis, and green ivy.

Miss Trish Knorr, Wisconsin Dells, as maid of honor, and Mrs. Hugh Christie, Greenwood, Miss Hope Bonnin, Appleton, and Miss Jayne Neuenfeldt, La Crosse, were bridesmaids, and had aqua colored voile gowns with sand colored lace bodice, and carried nosegays of mixed flowers, daisies, carnations and baby's breath.

Pammy Sankey, Milwaukee, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Edward Turnquist, Greenwood, was best man, and groomsmen were Robert Turnquist, Stevens Point; Dennis Turnquist, Pittsville; and Roger Scherer, Bloomington, Minn.

Ushering were Richard Scherer, Greenwood, and William Turnquist, Hayfield, Minn.

The nuptial Mass was followed by a reception and dance at the Legion Hall, with supper at the church hall.

Mrs. Turnquist is a 1968 graduate of Greenwood High School, and will graduate August 1973 from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, where she is studying Medical Technology.

Her husband is a 1964 graduate of Greenwood High School and is engaged in farming at R.R. 1, Greenwood,w here the couple will live following a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Michigan.
