Schecklman, June O. (13 JUN 1931 – 7 APR 2017)

June O. Schecklman, 85, Neillsville, passed away on Friday, April 7, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 22, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Loyal. Rev. Steve Brice will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church, on Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

June Odell Genskow was born on June 13, 1931, in Tigerton, to William and Ella (nee Fraedrich) Genskow. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Valley View Country School near Tigerton. She married Edward R. Schecklman on July 21, 1956, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Tigerton. They moved to the town of York, rural Loyal, where they farmed for many years. In 1984, June completed her G.E.D. and then went to Mid-State Technical College in Marshfield, and completed the certified nursing assistant course with her daughter, Lisa. In addition to farming, June also worked at Figi’s in Marshfield, and was a C.N.A. at the Marshfield Living Center and at Drake 1&2 Assisted Living Centers in Marshfield for several years. After retiring, she was a partner in K&H Auto with her husband and son, John, where she cooked for the employees. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and the Clark County Homemakers. June had many interests but especially enjoyed cooking, playing cards, going to the casino, and collecting elephants.

She will be dearly missed by her four sons: Daniel (Lynn) Schecklman of Marshfield, Todd (MaryAnn) Schecklman of Greenwood, Peter (Angel) Schecklman of Loyal, and John Schecklman of Neillsville; three daughters: Lisa (Jeff) Hoff of Marshfield, Sara (Jeff Lukes) Eilers of Loyal, and Lori (Randy) Seliskar of Loyal; 11 grandchildren: Chad Braun, Heidi Braun, Travis (Laurie) Braun, Matt (Kim) Schecklman, Ryan (Kehly) Schecklman, Cody Schecklman, Marc Eilers, Amanda (Lance) Lehman, Dylan Eilers, Paul (Chelsea) Schecklman, and Claire Schecklman; one step-grandson: Chris Seliskar; eight great-grandchildren: Achilles, Alayna, Kade, Daelyn, Adalynn, Raegan, Kilyn, and Killian; four step-great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Trevor, Ryder and Maecy; one granddaughter-in-law: Elicia Seliskar; two sisters: Carol Hauser of Marion, and Arlene (Ralph) Wuske of Tigerton; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ed, on Feb. 7, 2015; three children: Billy, Paul and Nicole Schecklman; one step-grandson: Dan Seliskar; one brother: Milton; and six sisters: Elda, Edna, Gladys, Ruby, Betty and Anita.

Mom was a person dedicated to God, her family, to serving others, and always had a purpose in life.

The family would like to thank Rev. Steve Brice and the staff at Ministry Home Care Hospice for their visits and expressions of kindness, care and compassion.
