Pawlik, Florence O. (Filipiak) (9 JAN 1926 - 7 MAR 2017)

Florence O. Pawlik, 91 of Gilman, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Ascension Our Lady of Victory Hospital-Stanley.

She was born on January 9, 1926 in Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Nesterick) Filipiak. The family moved to the Gilman area when she was a little girl. Florence went on to graduate from Gilman High.

On June 19, 1948 she was united in marriage to Joseph Pawlik at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church-Lublin. The couple raised their three children, Joseph Jr. “Joey” (1950), Darlene (1954)
and Dorothy (1956) while operating and expanding the family dairy farm south of Gilman.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene (Gary) Pawlik Plank of Stratford and Dorothy (Stanley) Halida of Lublin, seven grandchildren who will serve as pallbearers and 18 great grandchildren: Jacqueline (Zach) Hennemann and their children Isaac and Jacob; Carey (Mark) Pawlik Paulson and their children Dylan and Kole; Jennifer (Jeramie) Duellman and their children Tychelle, Troy, and Trevin; Jodi (Paul) Weisenbeck and their children Karlie, Bailey and Hallie; Cory (Sarah) Halida and their children Logan, Lucas, Bradley and Grace; Kristen (David) Koontz Haider and their daughter Marley; and Karyn (Zack) Nitz and their children Alaina, Ella, and Samuel.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Sharon Hughes of Gilman, brothers, Peter (Patricia) Filipiak of Hawkins and Richard Filipiak of Chippewa Falls and two sisters, Eleanor Almos of Minneapolis, MN and Alice (Herb) Deuel of Sheldon and sister in law, Jan Filipiak of Hudson.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Sr. (2013), son, Joseph Jr., son in law, Richard Hughes, brother, William Filipiak, sister, Dorothy Filipiak and brother in law, Kurt Almos.

Funeral services will be at 11AM on Saturday, March 11th at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church-Lublin with Father Hermann Klarr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Friday at the Gilman Funeral Home with a 7:30 PM Panikhida service.

Visitation will continue Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 AM.
