Cowles, Albert H. (16 DEC 1877 – 14 DEC 1971)

Albert H. Cowles, Eagle Bend, Minnesota, uncle of Lawrence V. Cowles and Mrs. J.R. Steiner, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), died December 14, 1971 at the Bertha, Minnesota hospital, lacking two days of being 94 years old.

Born in the Township of LeRoy, Dodge County, Wisconsin, he attended high school in Loyal, living with his sister, the late Mrs. Hattie Richardson, whose husband was editor and owner of Loyal's first newspaper.

On June 17, 1897 he married Miss Florence Borden, a Loyal girl, at Neillsville. She died January 9, 1964. The late Elwin Cook, father of Russell Cook, Loyal, was her nephew.

Survivors include a daughter, Beulah (Mrs. Chris Oftedahl) of Eagle Bend, Minnesota, seven grandchildren, three of who were children of his daughter Eva, who died August 12, 1970, in the state of Oregon.

Funeral services were held December 17, 1971 in the Methodist Church, Eagle Bend, Minnesota, and interment was made there.
