Gregorich, Dorothy Theresa (30 August 1918 – 7 February 2017)

Dorothy T. Gregorich, 98, of Willard passed away at Care & Rehab-Neillsville, in Neillsville, Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017.

Dorothy Theresa Petkovsek was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Willard, the youngest of 10 children, to John and Mary (Germosek) Petkovsek. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at North Willard School. After completing her education, Dorothy stayed at home to help on the farm. In 1941, she moved to Chicago where she worked as a plant operations inspector for Western Electric for five years. Dorothy returned to Willard in December 1946. She was united in marriage to Leo F. Gregorich May 17, 1947, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Dorothy worked on the farm alongside her husband Leo and raised their four sons. They retired from farming in 1980, and their son Fred took over the farm.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and its PCCW and was a member of K.S.K.J. Lodge #136.

Dorothy had many interests but especially loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking and watching the Green Bay Packers.

She is survived by three sons, Roger “Bear” (Rhonda) Gregorich, Roy (Charlotte) Gregorich, and Fred (Jill) Gregorich, all of Willard; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo April 28, 2003; one son, George, June 16, 1997; six brothers: John, Joseph, Tony, Frank, Martin, and William Petkovsek; and three sisters: Mary Beton, Anna Lasses, and Frances Bruske.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard. Rev. Steve Brice officiated and burial followed in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. Her grandchildren swerved as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
