Grenwalt, Eymard F. "Ike" (21 NOV 1933 - 14 JAN 2017)

Eymard F. "Ike" Grenwalt, 83, Athens died Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his home.

He was born November 21, 1933 in Oconto, Nebraska, son of the late Felix and Esther (Kalinowski) Grenwalt. On January 12, 1956 he married Bonnie McNulty in Oconto, Nebraska. She survives.

For more than 22 years Ike was a dairy farmer in the town of Halsey. After dairy farming he became a wholesale seed supplier until his retirement. Some of his favorite pastimes included hunting, woodworking, dancing and listening to polkas, and talking to people everywhere he went.

Ike proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Grenwalt, Athens, his childrene, EmaRita Grenwalt, Ohio, Theresa (Allen) Kraft, Athens, Joe (Donna) Grenwalt, Edgar, Daniel (Terri) Grenwalt, Athens, Randy (Linda) Grenwalt, Ohio, Rodney (Michelle) Grenwalt, Athens, Danette (Dale) Prochnow Jr., Medford and Tony (Connie) Grenwalt, Athens, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his siblings, Grace Mills, Nebraska and Jerome (Barb) Grenwalt, Arizona and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two grandsons and his brother-in-law, Donald Mills.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. The Rev. Thomas Huff and Rev. Elias Mary will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar and again on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.

There will be a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Edgar Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
