Clough, Ernest Winfield “Snowball” (9 APR 1881 - 7 NOV 1970)

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at the Perkinstown Community Church for
Ernest Winfield Clough, an 89 year old town of Grover resident who died Saturday at Memorial Hospital, Medford, where he had been a patient for one day.

He had been in ill health for the past four years and a resident of Memorial Nursing Home, Medford since that time.

Rev. Albert G. Stroh, pastor of First Baptist Church, Medford, officiated and burial took place in
the Perkinstown Community Cemetery. The body lay in state at the Ruesch Funeral Home at Medford.

Mr. Clough was born April 9, 1881, in Minnesota and received his education in Minnesota and
Wisconsin. At age 17, he moved to the town of Grover where he was employed in farming and logging until his retirement in 1955. He continued to live in the Perkinstown area until he entered the nursing home.

His marriage to Anna Elizabeth Fischer, who preceded him in death February 24, 1947, took
place in 1913. He was a former town clerk and a member of the school board for several years.

Surviving are two sons, James of Chicago and Patrick of the town of Grover; one daughter, Barbara (Joseph) Czappa of Chicago, one brother, Roscoe of Perkinstown, 17 grandchildren,
and several great grandchildren.

Two sons, Marvin and Ernest Jr. and one brother, George also preceded him in death.
