Norks, Tony (13 June 1887 – 21 July 1974)

Tony Norks, 87, Greenwood, died early Sunday morning at the Thorp Care Center.

Mr. Norks was born in Lithuania June 13, 1887. He was a farm laborer all his life and never married. He had been residing in the Clark County Home for the Aged since 1959, until a month ago, when he went to the Thorp Care Center.

Services were held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood and at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Michael Mertens, pastor of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard officiated. Burial was made in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery in Thorp. A rosary was held at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Funeral Home.

Surviving are a nephew Mike Norks of Greenwood; and two nieces, Jane Henderson of Bethel, Mn., and Agnes Cappelletti of River Grove, Il.
