Herman, Martha (11 JAN 1885 – 14 AUG 1968)
Martha (Schimanski) Herman, 83, resident of Franklin Park, formerly of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), passed away at St. Anne's Hospital in Chicago August 14, 1968.
Mrs. Herman was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of two years.
On June 27, 1931 she was united in marriage to the late Stanley A. Herman in Chicago.
Mrs. Herman was preceded in death by her late and beloved husband, Stanley. She is survived by her nine children, Frank (Celia Mae) Pawlicki; Helen Phillips, Joseph (Loretta), Teresa (LeRoy) Weiss, Ben (Mabel), Agnes (Helmuth) Maas, Eleanor (Michael) Rizzo, Dorothy (Melvin) Rubeck, all of the Chicago area; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Her sisters-in-law, Clara Ebben, Victoria Wilcenski, Mrs. James (Helen) Boylan, Mayme Milligan, Mrs. Hermiss (Anna) Schmidt, Mrs. Helen (wife of the late William) Herman; brothers-in-law, Clarence (Stella) and Marion (Celine).
Funeral services were conducted at St. Bernard's Church by the Rev. Francis Brockman at 9:30 a.m. on August 17, 1968. Pallbearers were three grandsons, Dennis Rubeck, Gary Rizzo and Gerald Schuman, and three nephews, Richard Boie, James Boylan and Francis Milligan.
