Reissmann, Karen M. (7 JUN 1969)

Karen M. Reissmann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil B. Reissmann of Wausau, and Marvin A. Strassburger, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Strassburger of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), were united in marriage June 7, 1969, at a 2 p.m. ceremony. The nuptials were performed by Rev. Thomas McInnis at Holy Name Catholic Church, Wausau. The organ was played by Sister Kristen and Mrs. Dora Albrecht of Abbotsford sang for the occasion.

The bride was attire din a gown fashioned by the bride's mother, of ivory satin with a yok of Venice Lace trimmed with pearls and crystals, from which flowed a redingote styled organza coat with built in chapel train. The veil was of lace petals with centers of tiny flowers and lace leaves, all trimmed with pearls and aurora borealis crystals. The bride carried a colonial cascade of white roses and snowdrift pompon mums with ivy.

The bridal attendants were Mrs. Robert Ollhoff of River Falls, the matron of honor, and bridesmaids, Miss Christine Opick of Madison and Miss Mary Szenner (?) of Marinette. Miss Bonnie Reissmann was the junior bridesmaid and Miss Colleen Martin was the flower girl.

The attendants were attired in pink chiffon over taffeta dresses, with high rounded necklines, long sleeves with ruffles at the cuff. Ruffles also accented the hemline of the A-line skirt. Green satin ribbons and a tiny bow accented the empire waistline, which was also styled with matching chiffon petals and dark green leaves, which were also scattered throughout the skirt.

The headpieces were of matching netted loops with tiny flowers holding a short bouffant veil. They carried baskets of light pink edged carnations and white daisy mums.

The best man was Jack Strassburger of Curtiss. Groomsmen were Duane Broeske of Dorchester, Walter Madonis of Milwaukee and Mark Irick of Rothschild. The ring bearer was Charles Raulusonis of Wausau.

Ushers were Jack Cotey of Durand, Ill., David Broeske of Dorchester, and James Reissmann of Wausau.

Festivities of the day included a dinner following the ceremony in the church hall and a reception and dance at the Poplar Tree Ballroom at Marathon.

The bride is a graduate of Newman High School, Wausau, and will graduate in January 1970 from North Central Technical Institute with a degree in Data Processing. She is employed by the First American National Bank, Wausau, as a computer operator.

The groom is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and also is a graduate of the North Central Technical Institute with a degree in Automotive Technology. He is employed by Crestline Millwork at Wausau.
