News has been received here of the death of Mr. Herman Kohls, 86, of Rosendale, on Monday, October 16. He was a former Curtiss area resident and lived in the town of Hoard for many years before moving to his present home. He was preceded in death by his wife. Funeral services were held at Rosendale on Wednesday, October 18th.

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ackerman and Mrs. Martha Harmel were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith and sons at Chili.

Mrs. Emma Skimmer of Bloomington is a guest at the home of her son, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Olson and family. Other guests there over the weekend were their children, Diane Olson, who attends, WSU, Eau Claire, and Dennis Olson, a student at Luther College at Decorah, Iowa.

Mrs. Elizabeth Buss was a weekend guest at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Schneider, at Ladysmith.

The afternoon Circle of the A.L.C.W. of St. Paul's Lutheran Church met Tuesday at the Parish Hall. The general routine business was conducted and a good crowd attended. Mrs. Glen Schwandt and Mrs. Wm. Anderson were the hostesses. A delicious lunch was served.

Mrs. Anna Lipprandt has moved into the Walter Lipprandt home on Wednesday, October 19th. She formerly lived in the Mrs. Emil Buss Apartments on East Front Street.

Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Johnson left Tuesday on a two week visit at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Bochnia and family at Madison, Florida.

Mr. Sam Lien left for his home at Tucson, Arizona via plane from Wausau on Thursday. He was accompanied by his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Lien, who will make an extended stay there with other rleatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren Meyers and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kirchoff and sons of Racine were weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Long, and also attended the Porter wedding on Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Klempke and family and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Dunow and children of Racine were weekend guests at the Lawrence Klemetson home. On Saturday they served as attendants at the Porter – Klemetson wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Matthias of Ashland are spending this week at the home of his mother, Mrs. F.R. Matthias.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith of Holcombe called on relatives and friends here the past weekend.

Mrs. Anna C. Peterson is visiting at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bard and family at Montello.

Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Martin and son of Spencer were Saturday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kobs.
