Schmittfranz, Linda D. (Eggert) (25 JUN 1951 - 17 OCT 2014)

Linda D. Schmittfranz, age 63, of N7441 County Road C, Rib Lake, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Aspirus Medford Hospital, emergency room where she had been taken earlier by ambulance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 20 at Rib Lake United Methodist Church, with Rev. Kyochul Shin officiating. Interment will be at the Lakeview Cemetery, Rib Lake.

Honorary pallbearers will be Logan and Molly Schmittfranz; Makenna Powell, Erin and Evan Bohmbach. Active pallbearers will be Lee Johnson; Travis Wienke; Jared Powell; Andy Carlyle; Kris Brothers; Makayla and Tailor Bohmbach.

Visitation will be at the Hemer Funeral Home, Rib Lake from 4-8 PM on Sunday, October 19 and also at the Rib Lake United Methodist Church from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, October 20.

Linda was born on June 25, 1951 at Milwaukee, WI, to Elmer Albert and Delores Pearl (Glenzer) Eggert.

She attended the Town of Greenwood elementary school, 1969 graduate of Rib Lake High School.

On June 28, 1969, at the Chelsea Catholic Church, she married James “Jim” F. Schmittfranz, and he survives.

After her marriage, she worked mostly as a housewife/mother. She also did home child care for a period of time. She also worked at KFC & Hurd Millwork in Medford, C & G Minimart, Gem Products & Great Northern Cabinetry in Rib Lake for periods of time. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, embroidery, crocheting & spending time with her family.

Linda was a member of the Rib Lake United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James “Jim” F. Schmittfranz of Rib Lake; children Tony (Bobbie Jean) Schmittfranz of Rib Lake; Susan (Joshua) Powell of Crystal, MN; A.J. Schmittfranz of Minneapolis, MN; 5 grandchildren Molly and Logan Schmittfranz; Makenna, Duncan and Hunter Powell; honorary grandchildren Makayla, Tailor, Erin and Evan Bohmbach; siblings Janice (Donald) Johnson of Superior; Rod (Jeanette) Eggert of Grand Rapids, MI; Donna (Don) Hoefferle of Rib Lake.

Linda is predeceased by her parents, Elmer Albert and Delores Pearl (Glenzer) Eggert; and a sister, Dawn Marie Eggert.
