Ole Gilbertson of Taylor, a former area resident here, is a patient at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, where he submitted to surgery on Tuesday. He is getting along fine and expects to return home in a few days.

Grant Herrick, who had been a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital, at Marshfield for three weeks, was dismissed on Tuesday, January 17, and is convalescing at the home of his daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Peterson.

Mrs. A.J. Hennlich entertained ten ladies at her home Thursday. The afternoon was spent playing cards. Afterwards a desert lunch was served.

A baby shower was held for Mrs. Dick Bowen Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. Dave Walloros. Bingo was the entertainment for the evening. Lovely gifts and a delicious lunch served by Mrs. Walloros concluded the evening.

The annual meeting of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Curtiss, was held after the 10:30 services Sunday morning, followed with a potluck dinner. New officers elected were Arlyn Hamm, Arthur Laabs, Dennis Krueger and Clarence Nelson.

Mrs. Betty Marcott and Mrs. Francis Peissig were Friday afternoon callers in Marshfield.

Miss Kay Gosse spent the past weekend at Superior, where she attended a wedding.

Robert May of Kenosha was a weekend guest at the home of his mother, Mr. and Mrs. Armin Peterson.

Miss Rose Estes of New Richmond was a weekend house guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Laabs. She is a roommate of Susan Laabs at Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire.

Miss Sue Geary of Madison spent the weekend at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Geary.

Rev. and Mrs. Roger Tellock and family spent Sunday afternoon visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dicks at Stevens Point.

Mr. and Mrs. A.J. Hennlich drove to Appleton Saturday. They were accompanied there by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Merwin of Abbotsford. They all returned home Saturday evening.

Mrs. Bertha Peterson and Mrs. Marth Harmel visited with Henry Johnson at his home Saturday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Gust Braun, Owen, and Mr. and Mrs. Thorvald Carlsen of Withee were Sunday visitors at the Hans Clausen home at Withee.

The report on Mars. Baehr is that she had the cast removed last week from her broken ankle, but is still around in a wheel chair. She has been laid up the past two months, but now feels she is making a good recovery.
