Nancy Lee Colby was born on July 25, 1930, in the town of Brighton, rural Unity, the daughter of Henry and Lucy (nee Mayville) Colby. She was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Unity area, graduating from Unity High School in 1948. After completing high school, Nancy held various jobs, including working at a fishing pole factory in Unity, at a candy store in Milwaukee, and at a grocery store in Unity as a meat wrapper. She married Merlin C. Delo on Jan. 21, 1956, in Neillsville. Nancy farmed alongside her husband and raised their family on a farm in the town of Beaver, rural Loyal. She resided on the farm until shortly before her death. She was a member of the Loyal United Methodist Church and had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, playing fast-pitch softball in her younger years where she was a feared pitcher, and bowling.

Nancy is survived by her children: Randy Delo of Sarasota, Fla., Clay (Margie) Delo of Spencer, Audrey (Randy) Reading of Grafton, and Scott (Christina) Delo of Loyal; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Erma Peters of Neenah, Beverly Kempke of Pound, and Virgene Ladd of South Milwaukee; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merlin, in 2005; her children: Rick Delo in 1995, Cheryl Delo in 2003, Shannon Delo in 2005, and Susan in infancy; two granddaughters: Jessica Delo in 2003 and Paige Delo in 2012; her daughter-in-law: Doris Delo in 1995; two sisters: Lottie Lynn and Elenora Colby; and four brothers: Don, Lowell, Lloyd and Dennis Colby.
