Miss Eulah and Evelyn Irvine are on the sick list.

Mrs. Noel went to Madison to visit for a short time.

Dr. Christofferson of Colby was here on Thursday.

Miss Lena Wiertz went to Minneapolis last week.

Mrs. J.E. Ostrom was at Marshfield Saturday afternoon.

W.L. Smith went to Madison Monday to spend a few days.

Sol Jaseph went to Mendota Tuesday on business for the county.

C.H. Hamilton of Oshkosh spent a couple days here last week.

C.B. Culberston of Stanley transacted business here last week.

John Kintzele attended a meeting of fair men at Marshfield Saturday.

W.H. Patey went to Owen and Withee Tuesday on Y.M.C.A. work.

Mrs. H.E. Bartell spent a few days with relatives at Edgar last week.

Mrs. John Charles went to Princeton last week for a visit with her sister.

W.A. Harriman of Milwaukee spent a few days here this week with parents.

Dr. Matheson took Mrs. Drescher to Eau Claire Tuesday for medical treatment.

Herman Langreck and son left Monday for a visit with his son at St. Lucas, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beardsley have moved into their new home on South Hewett Street.

Carl Luchterhand returned Monday from a brief visit with his daughter at Minneapolis.

John and Neva Reeves of Colby were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Kurth.

Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Philpott of Loyal spent Thursday evening here with Sheriff and Mrs. Weaver.

Ed. Neverman came up from Evanston, Ill., Monday to send a few days with his mother.

Mrs. Jay Reine and son and Mrs. Deitzman went to Reedsburg Tuesday to visit for a short time.

Mrs. Elva Nelson went to Independence Monday where she will teach for the balance of the school year.

S.A., Marsh left Tuesday for his home in Saskatchewan, Canada, after a visit with his sister, Mrs. Will Waterman.

Jay Reine received a fine purebred Holstein bull calf last week from Hillsboro. It is an exceptionally fine animal.

Mrs. Stotts returned home to Alma Center Monday after an over-Sunday visit with Mr. and Mrs. Hm. Langreck.

Mrs. Charles Puphal returned home to Merrill last week after a short visit with her brother, Jos. Marth, and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Jake Schiller returned from Milwaukee Tuesday where Mr. Schiller had been receiving treatment for his eyes.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Hazelett of Marshfield spent Sunday here with his mother. Mrs. Hazelett is just out of the hospital after an operation.

Mrs. Will Eilert went to Chicago Monday to join her husband and return home to Fresno, Cal. She had been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Beardsley.

Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Martin went to Chicago yesterday to meet Mr. Martin’s brother from Iowa, who is a banker and newspaperman and will attend the Liberty Loan meeting of newspapermen on Friday.

Arthur Vine, Mrs. H.C. Carter and Mrs. Fred Major of Crandon are here to see their mother, who is quite sick at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Huckstead. Dr. Doege of Marshfield was called to see her Saturday.

J.O. Anderson and Sergt. Matt Miller, the latter of Neillsville, Wis., who recently returned from overseas and now stationed at Fort Snelling were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Larson on Wednesday. Both boys were in active service and severely wounded. The former was a German prisoner. The boys both get along fairly well on crutches. – North St. Paul Sentinel

Emery Crosby and Elmer Buddenhagen, E.R. Wonser, W.S. Davis, Henry Lawson and Henry Williams of Granton returned Thursday from Minneapolis where they were called on a law suit as stated in last week’s issue of the Times. The case was tried in the United States court and a verdict was rendered in favor of the Granton Bank, all of the gentlemen being more or less interested in the case. It was a notable victory for the defendants as it involved a very considerable amount of money over the sale of a car of Holstein cattle.

Will Schmidt went to Taylor last week to work this summer.

Mrs. Oscar Schoengarth went to Withee Monday to spend a few days.

Harry Carl and Harold Bullard were at Lynn Monday on business.

Miss Ruby McNelly went to Lynn Monday to work in the store there for a short time.

Mr. and Mrs. R.P. Eberhardt and children went to Marshfield Monday for a short visit.

Miss Julia Walters returned to her school work at Marshfield Monday after a week’s vacation.

A.R. Mularkey returned Monday from a few days’ visit to Oxford, his mother being quite sick there.

Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Hoey spent Thursday and Friday at St. Paul, Mr. Hoey being in attendance at a meeting of the Omaha station agents.

Mrs. Jos. Stiehl of Merrillan was here on Tuesday.

Thomas Lowe was at Marshfield Tuesday on business.

Mrs. Mary Bartlett of Merrillan spent a few days here last week with her son, C.E. Bartlett, and family.
