Boehm, Lee D. (8 OCT 1944 - 22 FEB 2014)

Lee D. Boehm, 69, Marathon, died Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born on October 8, 1944 in Wausau, the son of Mary (Lang) Boehm and the late Leon Boehm. On June 23, 1965, he married Alice Prihoda at St. Mary Catholic Church in Marathon. She survives.

Lee was the owner and operator of Lee's Hardware in Marathon for 30 years. He was a member of the Marathon Fire Department for 30 years, 25 of those years he served as Fire Chief. Lee enjoyed hobbies of woodworking and fishing, while always believing in the "family first" philosophy.

Survivors include, his wife of 48 years, Alice Boehm, Marathon; his mother, Mary Boehm, Wausau; four children, Ann Mueller, Castle Rock, CO, Brian (Lisa) Boehm, Marathon, Christine (Larry) Heise, Edgar and Neil (Amy) Boehm, Allegan, MI; 11 grandchildren, Christian Mueller, Jordan, Alexandra and Elizabeth Boehm, Joseph, Tara and Kristin Duberstein, Madison and Kyla Heise, Zachary and Benjamin Boehm; four sisters, Sister Diane Boehm FSPA, Eau Claire, Mary Ellen Schreiber (special friend, Alvin) Minnesota, Lynn Wiesman, Green Bay and Connie (John) Bresson, Plano, TX; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army, St. Mary School, Marathon or the charity of the donor's choice in Lee's name.
