Named by the Loyal FFA to be honored at the Wisconsin state Fair recently was Mr. and Mrs. Duane Stutte, who farm just north of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), on Country Trunk K.

The Stutte farm in the Town of Loyal consists of 230 acres, of which 160 were under cultivation. A crop rotation plan has about 89 acres of hay, 50 of corn, and the balance of oats.

The Stuttes moved onto the farm in 1957 when they rented from her parents. In 1960 they purchased the farm and since that time have made a number of improvements. An 88 foot addition as added to the old 89 foot barn in 1963.

In 1968 the Stuttes built a new milk house and a year later installed pipeline milkers. The Stuttes are quite satisfied with the pipeline milker, which is a labor saving device used twice each day.

Other improvements to the Stutte farm has been the erection of a 18' x 50' silo and a new machine shed. This year they are remodeling their home. The Stuttes also have added a number of new pieces of farm equipment during the year since they started farming.

Their herd of Holsteins averages about 50 and are producing about 500 pounds of fat with a 3.6 test and a herd average of 13,600 pounds of milk. Artificial breeding is used for most of the herd and milk testing is done through D.H.I.A.

The Stuttes are also active in community affairs. Duane is a member of the Parish Council at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Mrs. Stutte has been active in the Brownies for a number of years.

They have four children, three girls and a boy.
