Sossaman, Audrey (7 AUG 1971)

Marriage vows were spoken between Audrey Sossaman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sossaman, Unity, and James Hopfensperger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Hopfensperger, Spencer, at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 1971, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. Ault officiated at the ceremony, in which the bride was given away in marriage by her father. Mrs. David Ault sand, with Mrs. Luepke at the organ.

The bride was seen in a floor length bouffant bridal gown of Chantilly lace over a taffeta tiered skirt ending in a chapel train. Her bouffant veil fell from a forward headpiece of lace and crystals. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and red roses.

Judy Baxter, Owen, was the maid of honor, with Miss Candy Sossaman, Franklin, Wisconsin, Miss Debbie Schmidt, Unity, and Miss Sherry Sossaman, Unity, as the bridesmaids and miniature bride.

The attendants wore floor length bridesmaid's gowns with a choker style collar and long puffed sleeves in avocado colored chiffon over taffeta. They carried long bouquets of white and yellow carnations with yellow streamers.

Roger Oelrich, Spencer, was the best man, with Ronnie Baxter, Owen, Chuck Hopfensperger, Spencer, as the groomsmen, with David Shaputis, Dwight, Illinois, as ring bearer.

Ricky Sossaman and Mark Luepke served as the ushers.

After a supper at the Colby Hotel at 5:00, the reception and dance were held at the Unity Hall at 8:00.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby High School. Her husband attended Spencer High School. Both presently work at Land O' Lakes in Spencer.

After their wedding trip to Apostle Island, the couple will reside at N. 1st St. in Colby.
