Knutson, Kenneth W. (16 April 1917 - 1 July 1974)

Funeral services are to be held this (Thursday) afternoon, July 4, at 2 o’clock from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, for Kenneth W. Knutson, 57, of Rt. 2 Granton, who died Monday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where he was taken following an apparent heart attack. The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville, will officiate and burial will follow in St. Mary’s parish cemetery. The Rosary was to be recited at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Knutson was born April 16, 1917, at Curtiss and received his early education there before moving to the state of Iowa at the age of 10. His marriage to the former Barbara Chapman took place November 1, 1948, at Des Moines, Ia. The Knutsons lived in Iowa until 1956 when they moved to Wisconsin to farm. Mr. Knutson was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include four children: Michael Knutson of Granton, Terry Knutson of Memphis, Tn., Allan Knutson of Sheboygan Falls and Ann Knutson, at home; one sister, Mrs. Ted (Grace) Chrischelles of Algona, Ia.; three brothers, Marvin Knutson on Kanawha, Ia., Milford Knutson of Washington, Ia., and Richard Knutson of Webster City, Ia.; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers are to be Albert Schultz, Eugene Walters, Jesse Richmond, Roger helm, Wallace Garbisch and George Schecklman.
