Aarica Humke, daughter of Kurt and Amy Humke, Greenwood, was presented the Good Citizen Award from the Eau Claire Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at a ceremony recently at the Chippewa Valley Museum in Eau Claire. This award is given to a high school senior who excels academically, participates in extracurricular activities, and is active in the community.

Aarica participates in the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, the Drama Club, choir, band, Spanish Club, Student Council, volleyball, basketball, FFA and is a member of AODA BLAST. She has held multiple leaderships throughout her high school career, including the president of the National Honors Society, the president of the class of 2016, and the president of the Future Business Leaders of America.  After graduation, she plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout with a major in business management and an emphasis in human resource management.

Many high schools in the greater Chippewa Valley selected a Good Citizen. These nominees are a group of outstanding students who are highly active in extracurricular activities and community projects. DAR members are proud to recognize these exceptional students.

About the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) - the DAR, founded in 1890, is a volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to keeping America strong by promoting patriotism, preserving U.S. history, and supporting education programs.  Today’s DAR members fund local scholarships, pioneer historic restorations, and lead volunteer projects in their communities
