Sandra Joan Helm, 2325 Ellis St., Stevens Point, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Helm, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Jeffrey Alan Sommers, 2616 Dixon St., Apr.t 101, Stevens Point, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Sommers, 3317 South 45th Street, Greenfield, in a ceremony performed Saturday, June 19, 1971, at 3 p.m. at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Norbert E. King officiated. The vocalists were Mrs. Sharon Schoonover and Mrs. Diane Anderegg, with Gordon Denk at the organ and Jeff Denk the guitarist. The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The bride was gowned in a floor length white gown of satin peau featuring an empire bodice trimmed with Venice lace, floral motifs, a mandarin collar, bishop sleeves and sheath skirt with detachable train. Her bouffant veil was trimmed with sprays of seed pearls around the half hat of Venice Lace. She carried a cascade bouquet of white gladiolas and yellow carnations.

Miss Sharon Helm, Loyal, acted as the maid of honor, with Miss Marcy Guralski, Stevens Point, and Miss Shelley Sommers, Greenfield, as bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid.

The attendants were dressed a a floor length gown of maize floral printed polyester, yellow organza with empire bodices, mandarin collard, sheer sleeves. A large picture yellow hat of nylon braid trimmed with daisies and a bow adorned their heads. One long stemmed white glomelia was carried.

Ronald Wadzinski, Stevens Point, was best man, and Douglas Stensberg, Wisconsin Rapids, was groomsman.

Randall Helm, Loyal, and James Tiry, Stevens Point, were ushers.

A reception dinner and dance were held at the Star Lodge Motel in Loyal following the ceremony.

The bride is an August 1969 graduate of the Stevens Point LPN School of Nursing, and is presently employed at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. Her new husband is attending Stevens Point State University, where he is majoring in conservation.

After a wedding trip to Fernwood, Michigan, the couple will reside in Stevens Point.
