Abramowicz, Rosemary Frances (23 November 1932 - 14 August 2016)
Rosemary F. Abramowicz, a devoted wife, mother and Christian, age 83, of Lublin,
died peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2016, at her home surrounded by her
family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016,
at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Lublin, WI, with Father Sleeva officiating at
the Mass. Burial will follow at the St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation
will be held at the church, on Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service.
Rosemary Frances Gostomski was born on November 23, 1932, in Marathon County,
the daughter of Frank and Rose Gostomski. She married Edmund Abramowicz on
October 20, 1953, at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. They spent their
63 years together raising a family of seven sons and seven daughters as farmers
in Bellinger, WI.
Rosemary thoroughly enjoyed gardening and being surrounded by her children,
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She gardened on a grand scale. Family,
friends, and neighbors enjoyed the bountiful harvest served at many of the
family meals and holiday gatherings. We all knew what she meant when she said,
“Let’s go look at the garden.” We knew to grab our gloves on our way out the
door. Boys and girls, it was time to pull the weeds! After conversation about
life and listening to us just talk, it wasn’t long before the gardens were
cleaned of the unwanted intruders and her gentle guidance offered without
judgment.
Family was Rosemary’s passion and delight. She loved the large gatherings and
all of the noise and chaos that came with them. There was always room for one
more at the table! She also enjoyed fishing, traveling with family on vacations,
and trying her luck at the casino.
Rosemary is survived by her husband, Edmund; seven sons: Edmund, Jr. (Barb),
Paul (JoAnna), Wayne (Tammie), David (Karen), Mark (Lori), John (Rachel), Keith
(Jessica); seven daughters: Linda (John), Debbie (Jeff), Judy, Jane, Susie
(Richard), Betty Jo (Bryan), Mary (Jay); three brothers: Victor (Linda), Richard
(Gayle), John (Mary); four sisters: Edith, Harriet, Rita, Phyllis (Leonard); 50+
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose; granddaughter,
Cassandra McIntire; one son-in-law, John McIntire; four brothers: Arnold,
Lawrence, Frank, and Dennis; and one sister, Lorraine Grajkowski.
