John Metzke, Greenwood Community High School senior, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Metzke, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), has been notified that he has been selected to receive a scholarship from the Laird Youth Foundation.

Leadership and scholastic excellence are recognized by the scholarship committee in making the awards. The scholarships this year range from $1,000 to $2,000, depending on need, and the funds available enabled the Foundation to award ten scholarships.

The letter received by Mr. Charles Seefeldt, Greenwood Community High School Principal, stated: "The number of applicants and their quality made the selection difficult again this year. It is evident that the Seventh Congressional District is blessed with capable leaders and scholars who will be graduating with their repective class in 1971."
