At a special Court of Honor to be held Monday evening, March 22, 1971, Roger Dahl will receive his Eagle Scout Award. Other awards and merit badges will also be presented to several scouts.

Parents are invited and especially urged to attend this meeting because slides will be shown on Camp Phillips and plans will be made for the troop to attend. Each scout should have his $6.00 registration paid before April 1st, in order to receive the one dollar discount if he plans to attend camp.

Anyone interest in scouting is invited to attend.

Roger Dahl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dahl, Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), received the Eagle Scout Award at Court of Honor Monday, March 22, 1971. Mr. J.R. Thomas, silver-bearer scout, made the presentation. The Eagle Award is the highest award any boy scout can receive. Loyal has only one other Eagle Scout recipient, and that is Mr. Tom Wepfer, who received his Eagle 17 years ago.

Roger has been active in scouting since he was a Cub Scout and has had many varied experience on his way to "Eagle." Of the 21 necessary merit badges, 11 were required, and in such subjects as citizenship, first aid, lifesaving, conservation, nature, swimming, safety and camping. From the elective subjects he chose such others as conservation of soil and water and forestry, hiking, cycling, music, drafting and stamp collecting.

Mr. Arnold Finseth, a scouter from Golden Eagle District, and Pastor William Humlie, Trinity Lutheran Church, the church to which Roger belongs, both spoke congratulatory greetings.

Mr. Thomas also presented the Life Award to Jim Rowley, son of Scoutmaster and Mrs. Don Rowley, and at the same time encouraged him to complete the necessary requirements of his Eagle.

Bob Herdrich, Scoutmaster Troop 36, Eau Claire, and an uncle of Roger's, then presented Roger with the 50 miler award earned last summer at Camp Philmoat, Cimarron, New Mexico.
