The Production Credit Association announced this week that Robert E. Zager has been appointed to the Credit Manager and Agrifax Coordinator position at the home office in Neillsville.

U.J. Steiger, General Manager, state that Mr. Zager will be filling the position to be vacated by Gary Steele on April 1, 1971. Mr. Steele has purchased the Hiram Haugen farm near Neillsville and will take over the operation of the farm on April 1.

Mr. Zager, a graduate of Greenwood High School, has been with the PCAA for the past 13 years. He began employment in September 1957 as the Association's Credit Representative, and moved his family to Thorp in 1960 to become Branch Manager of the newly established branch office in that city. He witnessed the business growth of that branch from $900,000 in loans outstanding in 1960 to the present loan volume of $2,950,000. During his employment he attended farm credit seminars and electronic farm record seminars with personnel of the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank of St. Paul.

Mr. Zager is presently President of the Thorp Area School Board and has served on the board for the past 5 years. He is also serving as treasurer on the boy scout committee for Troop 27 at Thorp, and has served on the board of the Thorp Area Development Corp.

The Zager family will be moving to Neillsville after the school year is completed. Mrs. Zager is the former Shirley Holt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Holt of Neillsville. Their family consists of two boys and two girls.
