Mantik, Joan (5 APR 1969)

Miss Joan Mantik of Abbotsford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rueben Mantik, and Robert W. Gitzel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gitzel of Picketts, Wis., were united in marriage Saturday, April 5, 1969, at 1 p.m. The Rev. Ronald Held officiated at the ceremony held at the Wausau Christian Assembly Church.

Mrs. Gordon Zillman was the organist and Gary Liddle was the soloist. He sang "God Given Love" and "Wedding Song."

The bride was attired in an A-line floor length gown of organza with re-embroidered Alencon lace appliques over taffeta, with a detachable chapel train. Satin bands outlined the train hem. The veil was a two-tier white elbow length in a bouffant style in nylon tulle. Simulated pearls decorated the crown of petals and lace. The bride carried a bouquet of red roses and white carnations centered with a removable corsage.

The maid of honor was Patricia Mantik of Marshfield, and the bridesmaid was Miss Bonnie Gitzel of Picketts. The attendants wore aqua floor length gowns of sheer nylon organza over taffeta and had aqua headpieces formed of a cluster of daisies and simulate pearls. They carried a bouquet of aqua tinted carntiaons.

The best man was Ronald Feder of Green Lake, and the groomsman was Daniel Venzke of Abbotsford. The ushers were James Niblett of Chippewa Falls and Dennis Held of Rockford.

The miniature bride was Gloria Jean Mantik of Abbotsford and the miniature bridegroom was Dennis Paulson of Marathon.

A reception followed and was held at the Colby Hotel.

The bride is a 1968 graduate of Abbotsford High School and has been employed by the J.C. Penny Company at Marshfield, and the groom is a 1964 graduate of Rosendale High School and is a student technician at Fond du Lac Technical Institute. He is employed at the Kiekhaefer Mercury Outboard Motor plant.

The couple plans to make their home in Fond du Lac.
