Borchardt, Lauretta Mathilda (Ewan) (2 JUN 1910 - 22 AUG 2006)

Lauretta Mathilda Borchardt, 86, Weston, died Tuesday, August 22, 2006 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Care Partners, Weston.

She was born September 19, 1919 in Athens, daughter of the late Henry and Emma (Kallien) Ewan. On June 14, 1941 she married Hilbert Richard “Hip” Borchardt in Milan. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1989.

Lauretta graduated from Athens High School. She had been the bookkeeper for Borchardt-Stremer Garage in Athens, a business co-owned by her husband. Lauretta was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Schofield. She enjoyed tending to her flower beds, reading and gardening.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl K. (John) Lenz, Rothschild, her brother Ervin Ewan, Colby, her sisters, Dorothy Ramthun, Rothschild and Dolores (Melvin) Schmidt, Marshfield, along with nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Harvey Ewan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2006 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Schofield. The Rev. Joel S. Heckendorf will officiate. Burial will be in the Athens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
