On a wedding trip to Mackinac Island are Mr. and Mrs. Roger Atley Standiford, who were married at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 1964, by the Rev. Orval Egbert in Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood.
Mrs. Standiford, the former Miss Diane Liebzeit, Elmhurst, Ill., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Liebzeit, route 2, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), was given in marriage by her father to Mr. Standiford, also of Elmhurst, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Standiford, Greenwood.
Baskets of summer flowers decorated the church for the wedding ceremony, during which "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer" were sung. Mrs. Leona Albert was the organist and the men's chorus sang. Kenneth Steiger, the soloist, was accompanied by Mrs. Clarence Meinhardt.
The bride, carrying red roses and white stephanotis entwined with ivy, wore a dress made of silk organza trimmed with Chantilly motifs enhanced with seed pearls. The front of the dress was trimmed with Chantilly lace and the skirt with chapel train had a large silk organza bow at the back waistline. Her headpiece was made of Chantilly lace trimmed with seed pearls, to which the three-tiered veil of French illusion was attached.
Miss Sandra Liebzeit was the maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. Lee Cook, Marshfield; Miss Karen Standiford, Greenwood, and Mrs. Eldon Liebzeit, Appleton.
They carried blue and white carnations entwined with ivy and wore dresses of blue nylon organza over taffeta, styled with round necklines. From the waistlines cascaded bell-shaped floor length skirts accented at the back with large butterfly bows.
There hats were in matching pale blue nylon organza. They were bow-shaped with a fabric rose and lily of the valley trim, to which were attached face veils of blue illusion.
Debra Liebzeit, dressed like the aide, was the flower girl.
Jerry Peterson, Milwaukee, served in the capacity of best man, while the groomsmen were Lee Cook, Marshfield, and Bruce Liebzeit and Delmain Toburen, both of Greenwood. Ushering were Richard Standiford, , Greenwood, and Eldon Liebzeit, Appleton.
Wedding guests from out of town came from Appleton, Green Bay, Marshfield, Neillsville, Loyal, Milwaukee, Tomah, Kendall, Wilton, Elkhorn and Greenwood, besides Elmhurst, Franklin Park, Chicago and Northlake, Ill.
The bride's parental home was the scene of the wedding reception. The dinner was served in the church dining room and the dance was held that evening at Silver Dome, Neillsville.
Mrs. Standiford, a 1961 graduate of Greenwood High School, has been employed by the Scholle Chemical Co. at Northlake, Ill. Mr. Standiford, who was graduated from Greenwood High School the same year, works for International Paper Co., Northlake, Ill.
The newlyweds will make their home in Elmhurst, Ill., at 500 S. Fairview St.
