Thompson, Lauretta Jane (Wood) (20 MAR 1925 - 27 JUN 2016)

Lauretta Jane Thompson, age 91, of the Golden Living Continental Manor NH, Abbotsford, passed away on Monday, June 27 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield where she had been a patient for the past 4 days.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 2 at the United Methodist Church, Medford, with Pastor Kyochul Shin officiating.

Pallbearers will be Curtis, Adam and Justin Bach, Wayne Thompson. Interment will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Visitation will be at the United Methodist Church, Medford, from 9:30 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 2.

Lauretta was born on March 20, 1925 at Medford, to Felix Daniel and Julia Anna (Steevens) Wood.

She attended Lincoln Elementary School, Medford and Holy Rosary Parochial School, Medford.

On October 30, 1948, at Medford, she married Arlie Thompson. He preceded her in death June 4, 2000.

After their marriage, they farmed in the Town of Maplehurst for a period of years. In 1969 they moved to the City of Medford and she did area house cleaning for a period of time. For the past 8 years, she has resided at Golden Living-Continental Manor in Abbotsford. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Medford.

Lauretta is survived by her daughter, Betty (Joe) Bach of Medford; grandchildren Curtis (Alisha) Bach of Medford, Adam Bach of Medford and Justin (Ashley Jackson) Bach of Hudson; great grandchildren Lilly, Ryan and Courtney Bach.

She is predeceased by her parents, Felix Daniel and Julia Anna (Steevens) Wood; siblings Peter and George Wood, Mary Fenton, Elizabeth Smedegard, Rose Galler, Eleanora Purgett and twins - Clarence and Clara in infancy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be given to the family for a future designation.
