Schraufnagel, Carol (4 MAY 1968)

St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby, was the scene of the marriage Saturday, May 4, 1968, of Miss Carol Schraufnagel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cletus Schraufnagel, route 1, Colby, and Sgt. Steven John Luther, Fort Hood, Texas, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Olson of Unity.

Father John Pinion, pastor of St. Mary's Church, witnessed the exchange of vows at the 2:30p.m. services.

Serving as maid of honor was her cousin, Miss Ann Westendorf of Eau Claire. Another cousin of the bride Miss Judy Schraufnagel of Eau Claire, and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sharon Schraufnagel, were bridesmaids.

The best man was Jeff Cook of Unity, and the groomsmen were the bride's brothers, Dennis and Patrick Schraufnagel.

Performing the ushering duties were Terry Schraufnagel and Danny Olson, brothers of the bride and groom.

The bride chose an organza A-line gown with a Venice lace bodice with masking of satin ribbon. From the Watteau back were extended bands of Venice lace over satin ribbon, down the chapel train. She wore a forward headpiece of Venice lace motifs, attached to a bubble veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of white daisies.

Her attendants wore blue chiffon gowns with Venice lace tops and matching pearl studded poufs. They carried arrangements of blue and white daisies.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Trianon Ballroom, with supper served to about 200 guests. There was a wedding dance, also at the Trianon, that evening.

Both young people are graduates of the Colby High School. The bride has been employed as a teacher and the groom is serving with the U.S. Army in the signal corps. Following a wedding trip, they will be making their home at Temple, Texas.

Guests attending came from Colby, Unity, Withee, Edgar, Eau Claire, Marshfield, Wausau, Westboro, Ladysmith, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Brookfield, Chippewa Falls, Stetsonville, Palmyra, Spencer and Chicago, Ill.
