Weiler, Nicholas "Nick" G. (28 MAR 1916 - 16 MAY 2016)

Nicholas "Nick" G. Weiler, Athens, died Monday, May 16, 2016 at Continental Manor, Abbotsford.

He was born March 28, 1916 in town of Bern, son of the late Sebastian Sr. and Margaret (Gilles) Weiler.

On February 4, 1941 he married Helen Lueck at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She preceded him in death on December 29, 2004.

Nick served his country in the United States Navy and had several jobs throughout his life including working as an engineer for International Harvester, a well driller out West, driving truck and farming in the town of Halsey retiring in 1978. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, enjoyed traveling with family, fishing, hunting and playing cards.

Survivors include his children, David (Gale) Weiler, Athens, Mary (Gary) Pesarchick, Minneapolis and Randall (Jolie) Weiler, Weston; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Schug, Abbotsford, Henry Weiler, Marshfield, William "Bill" Weiler, Abbotsford, Mary (Tom) Bina, Viroqua, and Clarence (Delores) Weiler, Athens.

Besides his parents and wife, Helen, he was preceded in death by three sons, James, Roger, Milton and a daughter-in-law, Dianne; five siblings, Helen Schreiner, Sebastian Weiler Jr., Theresa Kreft, Charlie Weiler and Rose Gilbertson.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. George Graham will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
