Parker, Julie (17 JUN 1961)

Marriage rites uniting Miss Julie Parker of Adams and Roger Ystad of Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin, were performed at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 1961, in the Adams Congregational Church, Adams, Wis., by Rev. Charles Bryan.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Parker of Adams and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Ystad of Greenwood.

Nancy Swope of Wis. Rapids provided the vocal music for the ceremony. She sang the "Wedding Prayer" and "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Carl Swope provided the accompaniment.

The bride wore a floor length dress of Chantilly lace that had a sweetheart neckline edged with sequins and a skirt fashioned with alternating ruffles of tulle and lace. It was inset in the front with tulle.

She carried a white Bible, a gift of the groom, and white Amazon lilies and stephanotis. The church was decorated for the occasion with white peonies and blue gladiolas.

Mrs. Karen Monson of Minot, N.D., a sister, was matron of honor. Her dress was of ice-blue nylon chiffon with shirred bodice, a scoop neck and bouffant ballerina length skirt.

The other maids were Gwen Ystad, the groom's sister, of Greenwood, and Marilyn Mosely, the bride's cousin from Warrens.

Their floers were blue corn flowers and white feathered carnations.

Vickie DuRouche and Clayton Sorenson were flower girl and ring bearer.

Ronald Ystad of Nekoosa was best man for his brother, and Jim Zingler of Tomah, a cousin of the bride, and Dick Belke of Abbotsford, were the other attendants. Roger Olson of Greenwood and Vern Parker of Tomah, were ushers.

About 200 guests were present for the ceremony and for a reception held immediately after the ceremony in the church parlors.

The bride is a graduate of the Wood County Teachers College and will be employed as a teacher with the Loyal school district. Her husband, also a graduate of the Wis. Rapids School, is a teacher in the Spencer school system.

They will make their home in Spencer, after their return from a wedding trip on June 26.
