Frankiewicz, Bernard M. (10 May 1929 - 16 March 2016)

Bernard M. Frankiewicz passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen, WI.

Bernie was born on May 10, 1929, in the Town of Withee, Clark County Wisconsin to Adolph and Anna (Bohdankiewicz) Frankiewicz. He attended Pineland Elementary School and graduated from Withee high School in 1947. He was very involved in the Pineland School reunions throughout the years.

Bernie was a dairy farmer for many years. in 1968, he married Dolores Sciezor in Lublin, Wisconsin and they farmed on County Highway O until 1990. They then built a house across the road from the farm and lived there until settling in Thorp in a home that Bernie’s parents had built many years ago.

After selling the farm, Bernie worked for the Clark County Highway Dept., did custom combining, and worked for the Meals on Wheels program, delivering meals to homebound residents.

His hobbies included: traveling to Poland, Prague, Budapest Hungary, Slovakia, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and Branson, Missouri. He also enjoyed deer hunting, ice fishing, restoring a Model A Car, bowling and making model airplanes. Additionally, he liked watching sports on TV, especially Duke basketball and Vikings. Dancing and listening to old time music were also among his many interests.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dolores Frankiewicz of Thorp; two sisters: Felicia Lesniak of Northfield, MN and Frances Preston of Fort Lauderdale, FL; one sister-in-law: Alice Sciezor of Hastings, MN; and one brother-in-law, Ted Strzok of Ladysmith, WI. Other survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families; other relatives, neighbors and many friends.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers: Joe, Steve and Casey.

The family would like to send a special “Thanks” to the girls on 1West at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center. The care Bernie received was exceptional.
