Aanerud, Hjalmar August (12 SEP 1881 – 10 MAR 1959)
Hjalmar August Aanerud, 77, Pigeon Falls, died at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March
10, 1959 at the Whitehall Community Hospital following a heart attack. He had
been taken to the hospital the same day.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, March 14th at the Pigeon Creek
Synod Lutheran Church, the Rev. E.B. Christopherson officiating. Burial was in
the church cemetery.
Mr. Aanerud was born September, 12, 1881, at Donnelly, Minnesota, son of Andrew
and Josephine Aanerud. On October 2, 1902 he married Bertha Hansen in Minnesota.
They established their home at Morris, Minn. Later they settled near Greenwood
(Clark Co.), Wisconsin. They have lived in Pigeon Falls five years.
Survivors are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Francis (Gladys) Netzell of St. Paul;
two sons, Henry of Randolph, N.Y. and Harold of Pigeon Falls; seven
grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. H.M. Fredricks of Tucson, Ariz.; Mrs. Clara
Schultz of the state of Oregon, and Mrs. Rachel Quante of California, and one
brother, Madel Aanerud of St. Paul.
