Goldamer, Alvin R. (7 MAR 1884 – 18 MAR 1969)
Alvin R. Goldamer, 85, Abbotsford, died Tuesday, March 18, 1969 at the Memorial Hospital at Neillsville at 9:30 a.m.
Services will be held Friday, March 21 at 2 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford and burial will be made in the Abbotsford Cemetery. The Rev. F.H. Sprengler will officiate.
He will lie in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home from Thursday noon until Friday noon, and at Christ Lutheran Church from Friday noon until time of services.
He was born March 7, 1884 in the town of Pine Valley in Clark County, and was married to the former Meta Franz at Colby, May 21, 1908. She preceded him in death in 1954. He received his education in the Neillsville schools.
Mr. Goldamer was a cheesemaker in the town of Hull and also at Hamburg. He was also a car salesman and former garage owner in Abbotsford. He worked for the H and H Motor Company in Colby until his retirement in 1949. He was also a former emmber of the Abbotsford School Board, active in the Christ Lutheran Church and past president and trustee of the church.
Surviving are three children, Mrs. Harold (Audrey) Christensen, Mrs. Howard (Elaine) Speck, and Robert, all of Abbotsford; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Paul of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and Charles of Milwaukee.
