Boiler man Clarence H. Mierkey, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Evan W. Mierkey of
Route 1, Colby, and husband of the former Miss Virginia M. Aument of 1522 Santa
Clara Ave., Alameda, Calif., is serving aboard the attack aircraft carrier USS
Ranger, returned to the line after a five-day visit to the British crown colony
of Hong Kong.
Ranger crew members were able to enjoy sightseeing and shopping in the famous
city before the carrier returned to the Gulf of Tonkin to assume its duties in
support of U.S. and allied ground forces in South Vietnam.
In addition to supporting friend forces, Ranger’s Carrier Air Wing Two flies
