Petersen, Marjorie (Marriage - 20 April1974)

The Rev. Louis Junich of the Russian Orthodox Church officiated at the April 20 wedding of Miss Marjorie Petersen and Robert Oryszczyn, who exchanged vows in Lublin. A reception was held at the Quonset hall.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Petersen and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Oryszczyn, all of Rt. 1 Withee.

An arrangement of pink roses and baby’s breath complimented the bride’s empire-waist white satin gown trimmed with Chantilly lace, styled with a flowing train, and framed by a shoulder-length veil. She was presented in marriage by her father.

Ellen Smith, Thorp, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Carol Oryszczyn, Neillsville, and Karen Hodnett, Withee. Their lace-trimmed gowns in shades of pink, blue and yellow, respectively, were fashioned with empire waistlines and long, sheer sleeves caught by lace cuffs. Miss Smith carried a basket arrangement of pink roses. The bridesmaids’ baskets held daisy bouquets.

Serving as bestman was Dan Peleschak. Groomsmen were Rich Losiewicz and Keven Petersen. All Petersen seated guests.

The bride was honored at a pre-nuptial shower given by her aunt Lauretta Gilbertson.

The new Mrs. Oryszczyn, a 1970 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and a 1971 graduate of the Eau Claire Vocational School, is employed by a Thorp insurance corporation. Her husband graduated from Thorp High School in 1968 and from the Eau Claire Vocational School in 1970. He is employed as an industrial painter.
