Albrecht, Cecelia “Ceil” (Nowicki) (28 OCT 1909 - 3 MAR 2003)

Cecelia “Ceil” Albrecht, 93, Athens, died Monday, March 3, 2003, under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.

Ceil was born October 28, 1909, in the town of Rietbrock, Marathon County, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Kropidlowski) Nowicki. She married John Albrecht June 10, 1930, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski. He preceded her in death April 27, 1984.

Ceil was a homemaker and volunteered many hours of her time working at St. Anthony Catholic Church & School, Athens. She loved singing in the choir, playing the piano and working in her flower gardens.

Survivors include two daughters, Dolores (Marvin) Osterbrink, Wausau, Patricia (Thomas) Niewolny, Wausau; two sons, Jerome (Mary Ann) Albrecht, Athens, John (Debra) Albrecht, Edgar; 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Stella Nowicki, Athens.

Besides her husband, John and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Dorothy “Doris” Albecht and four brothers and six sisters.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 6, 2003, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Monsignor Matthew Malnar and Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens is in charge of arrangements.

There will be a Rosary service at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau or St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens.
