Willard (11 April 1974)

A birthday party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reuter last Sunday the occasion being the birthday of their daughter, Susan. The doll cake was made and decorated by Mrs. Holly Vetterkind. Ice cream and cake were served and games were played. Present to help her celebrate were: Gabriel Bastian, Lynnette Gregorich and Susan Vetterkind.

On Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Konkoski of Madison and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Konkoski, Jr., of Salt Lake City, Utah, spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Reuter and family. Afterward they all left for Mankato, Mn, where they visited their daughter and sister.

Ernie Olson of Berwyn, Il., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozego, Sr., and family and in Fairchild with Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Olson and family.

Last Sunday members of the Holy Family Society and the Mary of Perpetual Help held their annual communion breakfast after the 8:30 mass at the parish center.

Mr. and Mrs. Dave Pozego and family of new Brighton, Mn, spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pozego, Sr., and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ulesich spent an evening last week with Mr. and Mrs. Tony Ulesich.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Budzinski of Withee returned from Acapulco, Mexico, last week. They went by plane.

On Tuesday, Mrs. Al Hemersbach and Mrs. Henry Budzinski of Withee were in Oconto to get Mrs. Budzinski’s children, who were staying at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gannon while they were on a trip.

The Merry Homemakers are having an open house and movies at the parish community center at Willard at 8:30 p.m. April 16. Prior to the movies a business meeting will be held. The movies will be on agriculture in Yugoslavia. The film will be shown by Mary Ellen Sjolin of Neillsville. The general meeting is open to the public. After the meeting a coffee hour will follow. A bake sale was held on election day, and turned out very good.

The Bible study club met last Wednesday with Mrs. Jean Govek as their hostess. Bible reading and discussion was held. In attendance were Mrs. Ron Volovsek, Mrs. Alphonse Volovsek, Mrs. Vic Halbrader and Mrs. Frank Govek.

Robert Baltus celebrated his birthday last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Halbrader. Present for the occasion were: Jim Smith of Greenwood and brothers and sisters of Robert. Games were played and a lunch was served.
