Armstrong, Jeffrey “Jeff” A. (25 FEB 1961 - 14 OCT 2015)

Jeffrey “Jeff” A. Armstrong, 54, died Oct. 14 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, Wausau where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.

Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 21 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford with Rev. David Clements officiating. Burial took place at Perkinstown Community Cemetery, in the town of Grover. Visitation took place at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and also from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday, Oct. 21. Derek Bice, Scott Williams, Jeff Rouiller, Jason Romig, Blake Dums, Bob Christianson, and Tyler Christianson served as pallbearers.

Jeffrey Armstrong was born on Feb. 25, 1961 at Medford to Clara Frieda (Leuthy) and Jolly L. Armstrong. He attended Hannibal Elementary schools and was a 1979 graduate of Gilman High School, where he was class valedictorian.

On March 19, 1988 he married Lori Gavinski at All Saints Church in Oak Creek. They were later divorced after 17 years of marriage.

After his education, he moved to Milwaukee where he worked for Routh Construction as a rough carpenter. He then went on to work at Harland Check Printing in Waukesha for 10 years. He then worked as a Union Carpenter and built homes in the Waukesha area until an accident forced an early retirement in 2004. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bow leagues, riding ATV and anything outdoors. He was a member of Golden Arrow Bow Club of Waukesha.

He is survived by daughters, Nicole Armstrong of Mukwonago, Jamie Armstrong and Jacolyn “Jackie” Armstrong both of Greenfield; sisters, Peggy (Duane) Dassow of Burlington, Connie (Ray) Griesbach of Rhinelander; a twin brother, Jan (Barb) Armstrong of Medford and brother, Fred E. (Kelly) Emstrom of Medford. He is further survived by nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred G. Emstrom.
