The 13th Annual Family Reunion of the Frank Mellenthin family was held at Powers Bluff with 98 in attendance. Members of the Arthur Schwantes family were in charge of the arrangements.

A potluck dinner was followed by a business meeting. Mrs. Ed Winkler, Tomahawk, led the group in prayer. Minutes of the last reunion were read by Miss Sylvia Neumann, and Herbert Schwantes gave the treasurer's report. Greetings from Mrs. Ann Schultz were sent through Mrs. Janice Meyer.

Prizes were given in various categories, with Mrs. Elsie Mellenthin, 74, being the oldest person in attendance. The youngest attending was Vickie Rae Jacobitz. Mr. Walter Neumann of Fox Lake was born the farthest distance away, which was Germany, and coming from the greatest distance was Roger Hebert, who is home on leave from Spain, where he is in the Armed Forces. The girl attending with the shortest hair was Ronney Mellenthin. Miss Sylvia Neumann took the honors for having the longest run in her stocking, and Mr. Art Schwantes for having lived on the same farm for 63 years. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Jacobitz had the closest date of the wedding anniversary, which was August 2. The closest wedding date was taken by Jerome Krause and Patsy Luchterhand, who will be married August 15. The door prize was won by Mrs. Doris Krause of Watertown.

Marriages and births during the past year occurred to Linda Krause and Dale Batterton, to whom a boy was born; Archie Schwantes and Jean Iverson, who have a baby girl; Roger Hebert and Becky Mellenthin now have a baby boy; Dennis Mellenthin and Karen Kacer have a baby girl. Other marriages were Shirley Clark and John Yeslich; Cynthia Colrud and William Whiteside. Other births in the family circle were a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Sparks; a son to Mr. and Mrs. James Krause; a son to Mr. and Mrs. Terry Toltzman; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mellenthin; a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Warren S. Jacobitz Jr.; a son to Mr. and Mrs. William Thomer; and a new baby to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carlson.

Deaths occurring the past year were Mr. Albert Schultz, Dawn Mellenthin, Dennis Luepke, Esther Kopps and Ferdinand Kopps.
