Greenwood (21 March 1974)

Mr. and Mr. Martin Kirn were surprised by relatives and friends Saturday evening in their new house in Willard. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timmler, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Winkel and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kirn of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. John Hagedorn of Globe; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath of Greenwood; and Mr and Mrs. Roger Kirn of Willard. Cards were played after which refreshments were served. A cake, baked by Mrs. Roger Kirn had green and white decorations, topped with a paper replica of the Kirn’s new house. The honored couple received gifts.

The Adult Fellowship met Sunday evening in Zion United Church, Mrs. Theodore Abel presided. Following the business meeting, Mrs. Vernon (Bud) Smith showed pictures and gave a travelogue about the tour she and her husband took in Greece. A lunch was served by Mr. and Mrs. Ewald Schwarze and Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wessel. The next meeting will be held April 21. Hostesses will be Mrs. Bertha Dallman, mrs. Hazel Helwig and Mrs. Alice Perkins.

Word has been received that a former Greenwood resident, Mrs. Richard (Hermina) Moldenhauer, is a surgical patient in a Milwaukee hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rolland and son Duane, of Milwaukee, spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kuester.

The Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church will meet this (Thursday) afternoon at 1:30, at the home of Mrs. Donald Lenz.

The postponed meeting of the Oakland Homemakers was to be held Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Kathleen Lato.

Mrs. Edwin Hegenbarth entertained the Tuesday afternoon 500 club at the Black River apartments.

The Young Adult Bible Study group of Immanuel United Church met Tuesday evening in the parsonage, with the Rev. and Mrs. Pacifico Camarin hosts.

Saturday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kirn in Willard were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Keller of Greenwood, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Timmler of Loyal.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brehm of Racine and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Weigel of Stratford visited Thursday at the home of their sister, Mrs. Henry Keiner.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Telford and family of Eau Claire spent Sunday at the home of her mother, Mrs. Don Warner.
