Flag Day, Sunday, June 14th, 1970, will be a day to long remember in Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), as special dedication ceremonies will be held at the Municipal Building beginning at 2 p.m.

To be dedicated will be a Memorial of Honor of Spec. 4/C John L. Rueth, son of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Rueth, Route 2, Loyal.

Spec. 4/C John Rueth gave his life in Vietnam on March 17, 1969 fighting for the flag and country he loved and the memorial is being donated by Mr. and Mrs. Rueth and the Loyal American Legion Post #175.

A complete program for the dedication ceremonies can be found in the second section of this week's issue of the TRG. Musical numbers will be offered by the Loyal High School Band and Loyal Legion Commander Vincent (Pete) Lindner will act as Master of Ceremonies.

Welcome messages will be given by Mayor Bill Hesse and Auxiliary President Mrs. Ina Miller.

A number of distinguished guests, including Congressman Dave Obey and Senators Gaylord Nelson and William Proxmire have been invited and will be introduced by Commander Lindner.

Arnold Thorp, Deputy Vice-Commander of the Wisconsin American Legion, will give the dedication address, followed by remarks by Rev. Father King of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

Commander Lindner will also introduce the Gold Star Mothers of the post.

In connection with the dedication of the Memorial, a flag will be raised on the relocated flag pole that has flown over the White House.

A salute to the Dead will be given by the Loyal Legion Firing Squad.

Commander Lindner issued an invitation to everyone in the area to attend the ceremonies and also reminded all Loyal residents to display their flag on this special Flag Day in Loyal.
