Nowack, Emma (14 JUL 1881 – 2 JUN 1970)

Funeral services were held at Zion Lutheran Church on Friday afternoon for Mrs. Emma Nowack, 88, who died at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Tuesday. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Byron Glass, Herman Belter, Henry Helm, Arnold Garbisch, Allan Reisner and Ray Keuer.

Mrs. Leland Garbisch, organist, accompanied the congregation as they sang "Asleep In Jesus," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "I'm But a Stranger Here."

The former Emma Dahling was born July 14, 1881, at Kankakee, Ill., and was married there to Louis Novack June 13, 1900, who preceded her in death.

The couple lived in Illinois until 1919, when they moved to a farm in the town of York (Clark Co., Wis.). For the past 15 years she had lived in Granton. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the ladies aid.

Survivors are two sons, Clarence and Raymond Nowack, both of Granton; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Howe, Tomahawk; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Mrs. Elsie Pool, Chicago, and Mrs. Sophia Moore, Escondido, Calif.

She also was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
