Langfeldt Steven Bruce (6 MAY 1950 – 15 SEP 2015)

Steven B. Langfeldt, 65, Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Rev. Mary Mail officiated. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Steven Bruce Langfedlt was born on May 6, 1950, in Loyal, the son of Max and Frances (nee Rueth) Langfeldt. As a young boy, Steve and his brothers worked with their father in his business, Max Langfeldt and Sons Contractors. He was a 1968 graduate of Loyal High School. He was employed as a deputy with Clark County Sheriff’s Department. For many years, he was an insurance claims adjuster working for a variety of different businesses and later owning and operating Langfeldt Claim Service. On Sept. 16, 1995, he married Jody Hayward Tuel at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where he was a member and had served as a junior warden. Steve was an avid Packer and Brewers fan, and he enjoyed boating, woodworking and collecting Santa Clauses. He was involved with the Beaver Dam Area Community Theatre. Steve always looked forward to meeting up with the “Crew” for morning coffee. He loved all his children and adored his grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed photography, sightseeing, and traveling. Throughout his life, he shared his humor and teasing with those he loved. Steve was a man of high integrity and a workaholic. Helping others came naturally and was part of the fabric of who he was. He was always someone who could be counted on to help others. One of the last things Steve did on Friday morning, was come to the aid of the bus driver and students on a bus that went off the road. Steve’s heart was full of love and kindness throughout his life and encompassed the man he was.

Steve is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jody; his daughter, Ramonna (Shawn) Zawacki, and their children, Akiya, Luikai, and Maxwell of Neenah; his son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Langfeldt, and their children, Olivia, Corbin, Delilah, Eli, and Scarlett of Fond du Lac; his step-children: Megan (Joe) Moquin, Appleton, Brian Tuel, Milwaukee, and Nathan Phillips, Appleton; his sisters and brothers: Lois (Tom) Wirkus, Joann Oestreich, Alan (Barb) Langfeldt, Herb (Donna) Langfeldt, Dan (Karlene) Langfeldt and Bonnie Bender; his brother-in-law, Norman (Jane) Polasek; his former wife, Toni Rodello; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Langfeldt; two sisters, Helen Polasek, and Diane (in infancy); his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Darlene Langfeldt; a brother-in-law, Don Oestreich; his mother and father-in-law, Patricia and Burt Hayward; and his faithful companion and best friend, R.B.
